This couple was a blast to photograph. I love how they blended their Indian and American traditions. The vibrant colors and saris made for some wonderful photographs. Arden Hills resort offers some beautiful Italian inspired scenery for pictures. I’m so glad the rain held off long enough for us to grab a few outdoors shots. This couple opted to do a “first look”. They ended up with a ton of photographs and ample time to enjoy their reception. I love the purple up-lighting that DJ JazCAt provided. Up-lighting really transforms a room and if you have any money in your budget I high urge you to invest in it!!

How cute are they? This couple was such a joy to photograph. They were happy and full of laughter on their wedding day. This couple did a first look photo session. I cannot tell you how much stress this relieved for them. They were not rushed or pressed for photo time. Even-though this was probably my hottest wedding of the year so far they all put a smile on their face in the 100+ degree weather.
This location was a private residence. I was super excited we got to use the old truck, corn fields and buildings they had around the farm. Uhhh can you say a photographers dream location?? Check out the sunset. AMAZING!!!

First Look Photos-Wilton CA Jesse & Harvey

One of the things that I wish I had been told as a bride was to seriously consider doing a First Look. It’s definitely something that I regret not doing.
I immediately shunned the idea, reminding myself that I wanted to see my husband’s face light up when he saw me walking towards him. But I wasn’t thinking about the fact that when I reached him, I wouldn’t be hugging him or kissing him. The reality was that I turned to face the priest and the wedding started. I couldn’t talk to him and be all giddy and excited. I just stood there next to him, sneaking glances and holding in my excitement.
A First Look isn’t for everyone, and it’s not the “traditional” thing to do. But if photography is important to you, then you should seriously consider a First Look. Some of the absolute best wedding photos I have seen have been when the bride and groom have a First Look.
Let’s face it photography has changed A LOT in the past 20 years. Couples used to get one or two poses and then it was off to the reception. Now days people want lots of AMAZING photos and poses.
The PROS of a first look
- You can revel in seeing each other for the first time, soak it up, and enjoy some quiet moments alone with each other. Cry, laugh, do a little dance- whatever you want to do!
- You will get some awesome photographs of you and your soon-to-be husband and have ample time to do so.
-You will get to enjoy your full reception with your guests and dance the night away.
-You won’t feel rushed or stressed
The CONS
- If you’re extremely traditional, a First Look could take away from the build up and suspense of walking down the aisle.
- Your guests won’t be able to see that “first look” you and your groom have when you’re walking down the aisle. They will be able to see the pictures
